Chinese-style mahogany and Beijing lacquer display case, end of 19th century.

Very fine chinese-style mahogany display case, opening with a door located on its upper part and two doors on its lower part. Provided with a glass shelf in order to display collector's items. Upper part is inlaid with mother-of-pearl designed in a chinese fashion and mounted with a pediment in an openwork design. As far as the lower part is concerned, the two doors are garnished with Beijing lacquer slabs, sculpted like landscapes bas-relief with lively temples, wise men accompanied by fantastic animals and polychrom enhanced trees. Very fine piece of work, probably manufactured in Paris around the end of 19th century.
